Volkswagen insurance policies come with a number of benefits as standard, which include:
Driving other cars
Third party only cover while driving a car that is not owned or hired by you.
Driving other cars insurance, covers the policy holder (if aged 25 or over) for all Third party liability in the event of you causing accidental damage, injury or death to other people or property while driving a car which is not yours, and which you have not hired. It also includes liabilities caused by passengers travelling with you. It doesn't however; cover any damage caused to the car you are driving.
Includes sunroofs and bodywork damaged by broken glass.
Volkswagen Insurance will:
- Pay the full cost of repairs to chips or other small damage to your windscreen, or scratches to your bodywork caused by a broken windscreen or broken glass providing this is carried out by our approved repairer
- Pay all costs after the first £50 for replacing a windscreen or other fixed glass panels that are damaged beyond repair
Cover for liability to others, theft and damage to your car while you are using it abroad.
Foreign travel cover gives you comprehensive car insurance for up to 60 days of driving in the European Union, with all the features you have included in your policy for your normal, day-to-day UK driving.
In addition, we will pay any customs duty if your car is damaged and we cannot return it to Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands following a claim covered under this policy.
Pays a fixed sum of up to £10,000 if you or your passengers are killed or permanently injured in an accident involving your car.
Up to £250 for Fire and Theft or Accidental Damage to a luggage trailer. Whether or not it is attached to your car at the time of accident or loss.
If your car is being repaired by one of our Volkswagen group approved repairers following an accident or recovered theft we will provide a class A/D courtesy car, (subject to availability the car will be of a make and model within the VW Group range).
If your car Is assesses as being beyond economical repair you may retain the courtesy car for
- – 14 days if your car is less than one year old from the date of its first registration as new; or
- – 4 days if your car is more than one year old from the date of its first registration as new.
Up to £100,000 towards the cost of legal action you may need to take to cover uninsured losses should you or anyone covered under your policy be involved in a road accident involving your car which was not your fault which results in your or your passengers being permanently injured or killed, or property in your vehicle being lost or damaged.
